Woking
Ranked no.28 in England’s Top 100 courses & no.83 in the UK & Ireland Top 100
This is our 4th visit to this outstanding course. Established in 1893, it is the country’s first heathland course & the first of the famous ‘3 W’s’ (we are at West Hill & Worplesdon later in the year).
The esteemed golf writer, Bernard Darwin once wrote ‘Woking is the best & pleasantness place to play golf I have ever known.’ Maybe a little biased being a past President? We think not. Everyone who has played with us at Woking have thoroughly enjoyed it. Little has changed in the basic outline of the course, but with added features including a reservoir, fairway sprinkler system & careful manicuring of the local fauna & flora, Woking is in fantastic condition all year round.
In keeping with the club’s strict visitor guidelines, by playing on a Friday, we are able to play in threeballs & fourballs. As with all our events, the food is excellent & staff both on & off the course always attentive & welcoming. Another wonderful day in prospect.
